RESOLUTION - Congratulating the City of Kansas City, Missouri staff who received special honors on their achievements in the 44th Annual Kansas City Corporate Challenge (KCCC).

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri leadership has embraced KCCC’s philosophy to promote employee fitness and recreation within the Kansas City business community by offering diverse sporting opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the 2023 season, “Test Your Limits,” took place from April thru June and events were hosted at metropolitan Kansas City area locations including Truman Sports Complex, Longview Lake, Smithville Lake, Kansas Speedway, and Shawnee Mission Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri had close to 400 staff persons register to participate in the 2023 KCCC and collectively, these staff members demonstrated their sportsmanlike conduct, athleticism, and City pride by delivering the City of Kansas City, Missouri a third-place overall ranking in Division A with 749.5 points; and
WHEREAS, City staff earned several honors that highlighted their extraordinary participation during the 44th Annual Kansas City Corporate Challenge events; and
WHEREAS, the City won Best Team Spirit for our enthusiasm at the Kickoff Party; and
WHEREAS, Matt Kenney received the Above and Beyond award; and
WHEREAS, Brian Platt, Elizabeth Nussrallah and Karli Kaempfe won Newcomer Awards; and
WHEREAS, our Track Relay Teams won Most Inspirational Team; and
WHEREAS, Viola Budd won Most Spirited; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby express their appreciation for the staff who showed up in a big way and represented the City of Kansas City, Missouri with distinction; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to 2023 Kansas City Corporate Challenge honorees and congratulating each for their success.
