Authorizing a $324,490.00 Amendment No. 3 to a design professional services contract with Water Resources Solutions, for the Stormwater On-Call Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) Engineering Services project for a total contract amount of $487,586.00; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, the City executed a $5,000.00 under Project No. 60820043 for design professional services contract with Water Resources Solutions on August 12, 2021, for the Stormwater On-Call SLBE Engineering Services project; and
WHEREAS, the City executed a $70,190.00 Amendments No. 1 with Water Resources Solutions under Project No. 82000329 on March 29, 2022, to meet the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grant obligations for the City’s participation in the FEMA Cooperating Technical Partners (CTP) Program; and
WHEREAS, the City executed an $87,906.00 Amendment No 2 with Water Resources Solutions under Project No. 82000255 on November 16, 2022, for design professional services work associated with Tiffany Lake banks stabilization; and
WHEREAS, this proposed $324,490.00 Amendment No. 3 under Project No. 82000329 will add funds to the project to complete base level engineering for a 2D hydrology and hydraulics work for Dykes Branch and Indian Creeks using physical modeling by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the City; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of the Water Services Department is authorized to execute Amendment No. 3 to Contract No. 420 in the amount of $324,490.00, for a total contract amount of $487,586.00, with Water Resources Solutions, for the Stormwater On-Call SLBE Engineering Services project, under Project No. 60820043. A copy of the amendment is on file in the office of Water Services.
Section 2. That the Director of the Water Services Department is authorized a maximum expenditure of $324,490.00 from Account No. 24-8200-807760-611040-60820043, Stormwater Construction, to satisfy the cost of this amendment.
Section 3. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.
