RESOLUTION - Recognizing neighborhood leaders in celebration of National Good Neighbor Day.

WHEREAS, strong neighborhoods are the foundation of a vibrant, safe, and thriving city, and neighborhood leaders play an essential role in fostering connection, collaboration, and civic engagement among residents; and
WHEREAS, neighborhood leaders volunteer countless hours to advocate for their communities, organize residents, address local concerns, and partner with the City to improve the quality of life for all who call Kansas City home; and
WHEREAS, through their commitment to public safety, beautification efforts, community events, youth engagement, neighborhood planning, and resident outreach, these leaders help create stronger and more resilient neighborhoods throughout Kansas City; and
WHEREAS, National Good Neighbor Day serves as an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of kindness, service, and neighborly support that strengthens communities and brings people together across differences; and
WHEREAS, Kansas City's neighborhood leaders exemplify the values of good neighbors through their dedication to building welcoming communities, encouraging civic participation, and supporting residents in times of need; and
WHEREAS, their leadership inspires others to become involved in their neighborhoods and demonstrates that meaningful change begins at the local level through service, partnership, and community pride; and
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City recognizes that neighborhood leaders are invaluable partners in advancing opportunities, addressing challenges, and creating a stronger future for all residents; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council do hereby recognize and honor the dedicated neighborhood leaders throughout Kansas City and join in celebrating National Good Neighbor Day; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to the City of KCMO Neighborhoods Department with the Mayor and Council encouraging all residents to embrace the spirit of neighborliness, volunteerism, community engagement, and service.
