Approving various projects to be funded as part of the ReBuild KC grant program and directing the City Manager to undertake certain actions to facilitate the funding of the projects.

WHEREAS, the City received federal stimulus under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP); and

 

                     WHEREAS, the City allocated $15 million of ARP dollars to the ReBuild KC Grant program in 2023; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the City has allocated $2.95 million of ARP dollars to the ReBuild KC Grant program in 2024; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the City received more than 1,200 applications for assistance requesting more than $264 million in funding in 2023, and 259 applications requestion more than $70 million in funding in 2024; and

 

                     WHEREAS, these applications were reviewed by a comprehensive team of City staff; and

 

                     WHEREAS, after reviewing applications staff recommends that $402,000.00 be allocated to 3 affordable housing projects, $435,458.00.00 be allocated to 8 non-profit assistance projects, $519,999.00 be allocated to 7 violence intervention projects, $376,500.00 be allocated to 4 healthy childhood environment projects, $361,900.00 be allocated to 6 housing assistance projects, $665,000.00 be allocated to 6 job training projects, and $1,604,853.00 be allocated to 35 strong healthy community projects; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the following affordable housing projects are hereby approved, and the City Manager is directed to follow the City’s standard procurement process to effectuate the following projects that collectively will not exceed $402,000.00 in total expenditures:

Section 8.  The projects identified in Sections 1 through 7 herein, and more fully reflected in Exhibit A incorporated by this reference, will be funded with amounts previously appropriated in Account No. 24-2585-575003-B-G57RBLD in an amount not to exceed $4,365,710.00.
