RESOLUTION - Congratulating and recognizing Mr. Jerald Windsor on his retirement from the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and the work he accomplished in favor of the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri for over 34 years.

WHEREAS, Mr. Jerald Windsor began his employment, specifically his first tour with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, in October of 1986 with the Finance Department, then moving to the Neighborhoods Department in April of 1990 and on to the Kansas City Fire Department in July of 1994; and

 

WHEREAS, it was during this first tour that Mr. Windsor also served as a Member of the Jackson County Drug Abatement Response Team (an anti-drug program) in correlation with the City of Kansas City, Missouri from 1992 to 2002 and also as a Fire Safety Inspector from 1994 to 2002, and promoted to Educator between 2000 to 2002, which provided fire safety education to many others, including schools and nursing homes; and

 

WHEREAS, after a brief break from City Hall, Mr. Jerald Windsor returned to the City of Kansas City, Missouri, in July of 2006 with the City Planning Department until January of 2019, and then moving on as a Senior Engineering Technician within KC Water Services in February 2019 until April of 2023, when he transferred to the Public Works Department, wherein he made the difficult decision to retire in November of 2024; and 

 

WHEREAS, during this second journey with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, fellow colleagues, specifically within KC Water Services, spoke of his valued customer service and positive attitude while helping the public and his co-workers with water main extensions; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Jerald Windsor is a 2nd District resident of the City of Kansas City, Missouri and it is an honor to recognize all of his aforementioned accomplishments within so many vital areas of the City in his over 34 years of tenure; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Jerald Windsor has served this community with much loyalty and dedication, and evenly as important, addressing customer needs and fostering positive experiences in customer service; and

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby congratulate and recognize the over 34 years of service and retirement of Mr. Jerald Windsor and his dedication in serving the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Mr. Jerald Windsor, in recognition of his dedication to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.
