Authorizing the Manager of Procurement Services to execute a one (1) year contract renewal for indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity construction contracts (No. EV3052) that may exceed $1,000,000.00 with Mark One Electric Co, Inc., Vazquez Commercial Contracting, LLC, and Alpha Energy and Electric, Inc. to provide electrical maintenance and repair services at various City-owned facilities;  and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, the City Council previously authorized in Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 240282 (the “Ordinance”), Contract No. EV3052 that may exceed the Section 3-41(a)(1) threshold of $1,000,000.00 with Mark One Electric Co, Inc., Vazquez Commercial Contracting, LLC, and Alpha Energy and Electric, Inc.; and

                     WHEREAS, the contract includes renewal options that, under the Ordinance and Section 3-41(a)(1) of the Code of Ordinances, require additional City Council authorization because the contract amounts may exceed the $1,000,000.00 threshold; NOW, THEREFORE,

                     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

                     Section 1. That the Manager of Procurement Services is authorized to execute a one (1) year  contract renewal for Contract No. EV3052 in the amount that will exceed the Section 3-41(a)(1) threshold of $1,000,000.00 with Mark One Electric Co, Inc., Vazquez Commercial Contracting, LLC, and Alpha Energy and Electric, Inc., for electrical maintenance and repair services at various City-owned facilities with such funds as appropriated by the Council in the annual budgets.

Section 2.  That the Manager of Procurement Services is authorized to exercise the City’s four (4) one-year renewal options with Mark One Electric Co, Inc., Vazquez Commercial Contracting, LLC, and Alpha Energy and Electric, Inc. with additional Council authorization. 

 

                     Section 3. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.

The City has no financial obligation under this Ordinance and Contract until the Manager of Procurement Services issues a Purchase Order which will be signed by the City's Director of Finance certifying there is a balance, otherwise encumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise encumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment will be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation incurred in the Purchase Order.
