RESOLUTION - Honoring Janet E. O’Hagan on the occasion of her retirement after 19 years and 5 months of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Janet E. O’Hagan’s commitment and determination have resulted in progressive contributions to the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department; and
WHEREAS, Janet E. O’Hagan began her career with the City of Kansas City on Monday, October 31, 2005, as an Administrative Secretary for the Executive Director at the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department; and
WHEREAS, Janet E. O’Hagan is retiring as an Administrative Officer in the Sales and Marketing Division of the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department where throughout her tenure, she has displayed unwavering dedication, a heart of gold, and a deep commitment to excellence. She has consistently emphasized the importance of the sales team and colleagues in delivering exceptional customer service to clients and meeting planners while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and collegiality; and
WHEREAS, Janet E. O’Hagan’s tireless efforts in promoting Kansas City and Convention and Entertainment Facilities as a premier event destination across the country, combined with her effective leadership, guidance, and wisdom, she will be deeply missed; and
WHEREAS, Janet E. O’Hagan is excitedly anticipating the opportunity to spend time with her husband, children, and four grandchildren, while continuing volunteer work at church and with her favorite charities; she also plans for a couple of extended vacations abroad and is eager to express her love for gardening and the outdoors by making use of her kayak; and
WHEREAS, Monday, March 31, 2025, will mark the last day of Janet E. O’Hagan’s career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Ms. Janet E. O’Hagan, on her retirement from City service, the best wishes for her future, together with appreciation for her 19 years and 5 months of dedicated service to the citizens of Kansas City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Ms. O’Hagan in token of the Mayor and Council’s high esteem for Ms. O’Hagan’s work and best wishes for a long and happy retirement, which she so richly deserves.
