RESOLUTION - Recognizing the First Anniversary of the Forever Smiles Foundation and honoring Dr. Robert Weiss and Dr. Patrick Christopher.

WHEREAS, one year ago, two dedicated physicians, Dr. Robert Weiss and Dr. Patrick Christopher, transformed their passion for helping others into a thriving mission through the creation of the Forever Smiles Foundation; and
WHEREAS, the Forever Smiles Foundation is committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive cleft and craniofacial care to children and families in need, both in the Kansas City region and around the world; and
WHEREAS, with expertise in cleft lip and palate repair, cranial reconstruction, and facial trauma, Dr. Weiss and Dr. Christopher deliver life-changing surgical interventions to patients who might otherwise go without such care due to financial hardship or geographic barriers; and
WHEREAS, the Foundation not only funds these critical procedures, but also offers education, support, and long-term resources to empower patients and families throughout their medical journey; and
WHEREAS, driven by compassion and an unwavering commitment to service, Dr. Weiss and Dr. Christopher donate their time and skills both locally and abroad, leading multiple international mission trips each year to Africa; and
WHEREAS, their efforts have brought hope and healing to hundreds of children, restoring smiles, building brighter futures, and demonstrating the transformative power of medical care and human kindness; and
WHEREAS, the Forever Smiles Foundation continues to expand its impact through collaboration, education, and advocacy, ensuring that quality care is accessible to all, regardless of circumstance; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize and commend the Forever Smiles Foundation on its first anniversary and honor Dr. Robert Weiss and Dr. Patrick Christopher; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Dr. Robert Weiss and Dr. Patrick Christopher with the appreciation from the Mayor and Council’s for their extraordinary service, compassion, and dedication to improving lives locally and globally.
