Estimating and appropriating $4,000,000.00 in the Capital Improvements Grant Fund; authorizing the Director of Parks and Recreation to enter into a FY 2023 Community Project Funding Grant Agreement with the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Bruce R Watkins Connector Community Park Project; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded grant FY 2023 Community Project Funding Grant No. B-23-CP-MO-0902 in the amount of $4,000,000.00 for the construction of Bruce R. Watkins Connector Community Park to the Parks and Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department will be the project administrator for the Bruce R Watkins Connector Community Park project; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the revenue in the amount of $4,000,000.00 is hereby estimated in the following amount of the Capital Improvements Fund:
24-3091-700001-479350-G70240090 BRW Connector Community Park $4,000,000.00
Section 2. That the sum of $4,000,000.00 is appropriated in the following account of the Capital Improvements Grant Fund:
24-3091-708012-B-G70240090 BRW Connector Community Park $4,000,000.00
Section 3. Authorizing the Director of Parks and Recreation to enter into a FY 2023 Community Project Funding Grant Agreement with the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Bruce R Watkins Connector Community Park Project for $4,000,000.00.
Section 4. That the Director of Parks and Recreation is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 24-3091-708012-B- G70240090.
Section 5. That this ordinance is recognized as having an accelerated effective date within the provisions of Section 503(a)(3)(C) of the City Charter in that it appropriates money and shall take effect in accordance with that section.
