RESOLUTION - Honoring and recognizing Booker T. Allen on the occasion of his retirement from the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department after ten years of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City.

WHEREAS, Mr. Booker T. Allen faithfully served the City of Kansas City, for ten years, demonstrating unwavering commitment, professionalism, and pride in his work with the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Allen began his second career with the City on October 15, 2015, as a Facilities Attendant, bringing with him an exceptional work ethic, diligence, and a deep sense of responsibility that have contributed to the continued success of the Department; and
WHEREAS, throughout his tenure in the Event Support Division, Mr. Allen has become a trusted and valued team member whose institutional knowledge, dedication to customer service, and steady demeanor have enhanced both the guest and employee experience; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Allen has exemplified professionalism and patience, serving as an informal mentor to countless new employees, generously sharing his expertise, and consistently modeling integrity, teamwork, and dependability; and
WHEREAS, his colleagues and supervisors alike have relied on his accuracy, skill, and calm approach to even the most demanding tasks, earning him the respect and admiration of all who have had the pleasure of working alongside him; and
WHEREAS, following a career marked by excellence and service, Mr. Allen now looks forward to enjoying retirement, spending more time with his grandchildren, and traveling with family; and
WHEREAS, Sunday, November 30, 2025, will mark the conclusion of Mr. Allen’s distinguished service to the City of Kansas City; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby honor and commend Booker T. Allen for his ten years of dedicated service to the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department and the citizens of Kansas City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Mr. Allen as a token of the Mayor and Council’s appreciation, respect, and best wishes for a long, healthy, and joyful retirement, which he so richly deserves.
