Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute a Cooperative Agreement with the Palestine Community Improvement District for implementation of eligible work in connection with PIAC Award No. 420464 from funds previously appropriated, including work within the public right-of-way including streetlights, pedestrian lighting, and fencing; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, the Palestine Community Improvement District was awarded PIAC Award No. 420464 in PIAC Year 42 for the construction of public right-of-way improvements including streetlights, pedestrian lighting, curb and sidewalk improvements, and fencing; and
WHEREAS, the Palestine Community Improvement District will oversee the design, installation, construction, deconstruction, reconstruction, and maintenance of the pedestrian lights, streetlighting, and fencing in accordance with the PIAC Award; and
WHEREAS, the City will oversee the design, installation, construction, deconstruction, reconstruction, or maintenance of the curb and sidewalk improvements in accordance with the PIAC Award; and
WHEREAS, the portion of the PIAC Award relating to the pedestrian lighting, street lighting, and fencing consists of approximately $434,416.00; and
WHEREAS, the City shall authorize the payment of invoices submitted by Palestine Community Improvement District to the City from third-party suppliers or contractors for payment; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement in the amount of $434,416.00 for the authorization of payment of invoices submitted by Palestine Community Improvement District to the City from third-party suppliers or contractors for the design, installation, construction, deconstruction, reconstruction, or maintenance of the pedestrian lighting, streetlighting, and fencing in accordance with PIAC Award No. 420464 from funds previously appropriated in Account No. 27-3090-898307-B-89061128.
Section 2. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance, or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as having an accelerated effective date provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503 of the City Charter.
