RESOLUTION - Honoring Michael Radabaugh on his retirement after 29 years 7 months of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Michael joined the City of Kansas City, Missouri on December 2, 1996, and spent his entire career working in the Water Services Department; and
WHEREAS, Michael’s career started in the Water Services Department Wastewater Division as part of the bucketing crew cleaning debris from pipes from 1996-1997 and as a plate truck driver and setter for the lights and barricades crew from 1997-1998; and
WHEREAS, Michael took a promotion to the Water Services Department Engineering Division in 1998 and had numerous promotions there for the remainder of his career going from an Engineering Technician (1998-2000), Engineering Technician II in Stormwater GIS (2000-2001), Engineering Technician Lead in Stormwater GIS (2001-2014), Environmental Officer (2014-2023), and as a Senior Environmental Officer (2023-2026); and
WHEREAS, Michael is known for his excellent customer service having been complimented by the citizens and customers alike for his thoroughness, kindness, listening and problem-solving skills and has received multiple letters exemplifying this; and
WHEREAS, after retirement, Michael plans to spend time with his loving wife, Laura, his four children, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren as well as do charity work driving the ReNewed Hope Food Pantry Bus, which serves the Kansas City area, and other service work; and
WHEREAS, July 31, 2026, will mark the last day of Michael’s career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby honor Michael Radabaugh on his retirement after 29 years 7 months of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Michael Radabaugh in token of the Mayor and Council's respect and high regard and their best wishes for a long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
