COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE AS AMENDED
Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute Amendment No. 1 to the 2025-26 Cooperative Agreement with Bike Share KC in the amount of $218,000.00 for a total contract amount of $632,960.00; and that the City Manager shall submit a funding plan to council that expands the bike share system within 90 days.

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works entered into a Cooperative Agreement with Bike Share KC in the amount of $414,960.00; and
WHEREAS, this amendment would provide funding to procure an additional one hundred (100) bicycles at the cost of $100,000.00; and
WHEREAS, Bike Share KC will provide operation services for the additional bicycles for up to six (6) months of the fiscal year at a cost of $84,000.00; and
WHEREAS, Bike Share KC will also purchase batteries, racks for up to six (6) new stations, and signage at a cost of $34,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the annual cost to maintain the additional bikes is $168,000.00; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to the 2025-26 Cooperative Agreement with Bike Share KC in the amount of $218,000.00, for a total contract amount of $632,960.00 from funds previously appropriated to the following account:
26-2080-891319-B Bike PED Coordination $218,000.00
A copy of the agreement is on file with the Public Works Department.
Section 2. That the Director of Public Works shall include a definition of equity in Amendment No. 1.
Section 3. That the City Manager shall submit a funding plan to council within 90 days that expands the bike share system alongside the city’s trail system and includes other areas which have a greater dependency on the public transit system.
