Accepting funds allocated by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, 2023 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) in the amount of $315,838.00; estimating and appropriating $315,838.00 in the Justice Assistance Grant Fund; designating requisitioning authority; and authorizing cooperative agreement with Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission in the amount of $150,000.00.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Mayor and Council acknowledge and accept the funds allocated by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance in the amount of $315,838.00 for the 2023 Justice Assistance Grant, provided under an agreement with the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, which serves as fiscal agent for such grant.
Section 2. That the revenue in the following account of the 2023 Justice Assistance Grant Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:
25-2410-570001-476045-G57JAG23 Justice Assistance Grant $315,838.00
Section 3. That $315,838.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Justice Assistance Grant Fund to the following accounts:
25-2410-573501-A-G57JAG23 Justice Assistance Grant $145,588.00
25-2410-575301-B-G57JAG23 Justice Assistance Grant 170,250.00
TOTAL $315,838.00
Section 4. That the Director of Neighborhood Services Department is authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, a cooperative agreement with the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission, in the amount of $150,000.00. The agreement is approved, in substantial form, as that on file with the City Clerk.
