RESOLUTION - Recognizing National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Kansas City.

WHEREAS, during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we proudly recognize the Emergency Communications personnel of the Kansas City Fire Department and Jackson County’s 911 Emergency Services as the unseen first responders of our community; and
WHEREAS, these dedicated telecommunicators are the first voice heard in times of crisis and the steady presence behind every emergency response; and
WHEREAS, they answer 911 calls, provide lifesaving pre-arrival instructions, coordinate fire and emergency medical services, and law enforcement resources, and relay critical information to field units and hospitals while managing complex and high-risk incidents in real time; and
WHEREAS, their work is driven by a deep commitment to serving the citizens of Kansas City, grounded in the understanding that seconds matter and that clear, calm communication saves lives; and
WHEREAS, although they may not be physically present on the scene, their impact is felt in every emergency, and their professionalism, composure, and dedication are essential to the success of public safety operations each and every day; and
WHEREAS, the resilience, skill, and unwavering service of these telecommunicators contribute significantly to the safety and well-being of the Kansas City community; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and extend our deepest gratitude to the Kansas City Fire Department’s Emergency Communications personnel and Jackson County’s 911 Emergency Services for their outstanding service; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy here be presented to the 911 Operators of Kansas City and Jackson County with the Mayor and Council honoring and thanking these professionals for their dedication, resilience, and continued commitment to protecting the lives and safety of the citizens of Kansas City.
