Declaring certain real property, consisting of approximately 5,663 square feet, located Belton, Cass County, Missouri, formerly known as Richards-Gebaur Airport, surplus to the City’s needs; and authorizing the Director of General Services to negotiate and execute a sale contract, conveyance documents, and other documents necessary to effectuate transfer of said property to the City of Belton.

WHEREAS, the City owns the real property formerly known as the Richards-Gebaur Airport located in Belton, Cass County, Missouri (the “Property”); and

 

WHEREAS, the City successfully fulfilled its AIP Sponsor Assurance obligations when the former Richards-Gebaur Airport was decommissioned circa 1999; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Belton has offered to purchase the Property from the City; and

 

WHEREAS, the Property is no longer needed for public use by the City; NOW THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1:  That the property formerly known as the Richards-Gebaur Airport and described below is hereby declared surplus to the City’s needs:

 

All that part of the South 125 acres of the Southwest Quarter of Section 10, Township 46, Range 33, in Belton, Cass County, Missouri, described as follows: Commending at the Northwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 10; thence South 3 degrees 06 minutes 38 seconds West along the West line of said quarter section, a distance of 589.22 feet to a point on the North line of the South 125 acres of said quarter section, thence South 85 degrees 29 minutes 02 seconds East along said North line, a distance of 234.88 feet to the True Point of Beginning of the tract of land herein described; thence continuing South 85 degrees 29 minutes 02 seconds East along said North line, a distance of 75.00 feet; thence South 4 degrees 30 minutes 58 seconds West, a distance of 75.00 feet; thence North 85 degrees 29 minutes 02 seconds West, a distance of 75.00 feet; thence North 4 degrees 30 minutes 58 seconds East, a distance of 75.00 feet to the True Point of Beginning, subject to that part, if any, in streets, roadways, highways or other public rights-of-way.

 

Section 2:  That the Director of General Services is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute a sale agreement with the City of Belton, and any other documents needed to effectuate the transfer of property.
