RESOLUTION - Recognizing the UnidosUS 2025 Annual Conference: "Beacons of Change."

WHEREAS, the UnidosUS 2025 Annual Conference will be held from August 5-7, 2025, at the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City, Missouri; and
WHEREAS, UnidosUS is the largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States and is dedicated to empowering Latino communities and advancing equity and opportunity; and
WHEREAS, the annual conference is a premier national gathering of Latino leaders, advocates, and community members committed to addressing critical issues affecting Latino communities across the nation; and
WHEREAS, the 2025 conference, themed "Beacons of Change," will focus on leadership, resilience, and the collective impact of communities working together to achieve progress in key areas such as education, health, housing, immigration, and economic mobility; and
WHEREAS, the conference will provide attendees with dynamic keynote speakers, interactive workshops, engaging plenary sessions, networking opportunities, and a vibrant exhibit hall designed to foster collaboration and share best practices; and
WHEREAS, the UnidosUS Annual Conference serves as a powerful platform for sharing innovative strategies, informing policy, and strengthening partnerships that support Latino communities nationwide; and
WHEREAS, the 2025 conference presents an opportunity to celebrate Latino culture, leadership, and contributions to the social, economic, and civic life of our nation; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize and commend UnidosUS for hosting the 2025 Annual Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, and extend their warmest welcome to all participants who will gather to serve as "Beacons of Change" for Latino communities across the country; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that copies hereof be presented to UnidosUS in token of the Mayor and Council’s recognizing the contributions of UnidosUS to the advancement of civil rights, educational equity, economic empowerment, and health access for the Latino community, and for their continued advocacy on behalf of underserved communities nationwide.
