Estimating and appropriating $2,800,000.00 in the Capital Improvements Grant Fund; authorizing the Director of Parks and Recreation to enter into a High Priority Projects (HPP) Program Agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation for the MLK Park Pedestrian Bridge over Brush Creek project; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration, Department of Transportation, awarded a grant HPP 3003(419) in the amount $2,800,000.00 for construction of a pedestrian bridge over Brush Creek in MLK Park to the Parks and Recreation Department; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department will be the project administrator for the MLK Park Pedestrian Bridge over Brush Creek project; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the revenue in the amount of $2,800,000.00 is hereby estimated in the following account of the Capital Improvements Grant Fund:

 

24-3091-700001-476485-G70240091       MLK Jr. Park Pedestrian Bridge                                          $2,800,000.00

 

                      Section 2. That the sum of $2,800,000.00 is hereby appropriated in the following account of the Capital Improvements Grant Fund:

 

24-3091-708012-B-G70240091                     MLK Jr. Park Pedestrian Bridge                                           $2,800,000.00                                                                                                                                                                        

Section 3. Authorizing the Director of Parks and Recreation to enter into a High Priority Program Agreement  with the Missouri Department of Transportation for the MLK Park Pedestrian Bridge over Brush Creek project for $2,800,000.00.

 

Section 4. That the Director of Parks and Recreation is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 24-3091-708012-B-G70240091.

 

Section 5.  That this ordinance is recognized as having an accelerated effective date within the provisions of Section 503(a)(3)(C) of the City Charter in that it appropriates money and shall take effect in accordance with that section.
