RESOLUTION - Honoring the life of the Kansas City Firefighter Paramedic Graham Hoffman.

WHEREAS, Graham Hoffman joined the Kansas City Fire Department in 2022, and was immediately recognized for his remarkable positivity and dedication as a student in training; and
WHEREAS, in his time with the Kansas City Fire Department, as a member of Station 42, Firefighter Hoffman was quickly and consistently recognized by his peers and supervisors alike for the strength of his leadership, compassion, and eagerness to help any and all members of our community; and
WHEREAS, Firefighter Hoffman was senselessly taken from us at the age of 29, while working overtime to help members of our community in the early morning of Sunday, April 27; and
WHEREAS, Firefighter Hoffman’s partner in transport, KCFD crews, and North Kansas City Hospital staff worked tirelessly and heroically to provide care in his final hours, until Firefighter Hoffman succumbed to his injuries; and
WHEREAS, Firefighter Hoffman’s passing is a tragic loss for members of the Kansas City Fire Department, who will remember and honor Firefighter Hoffman for his positive and friendly spirit, his care for our community, and for his dedication and leadership in the Department; and
WHEREAS, Firefighter Hoffman is survived by his family and loved ones in Kansas City and across the country; and
WHEREAS, Firefighter Hoffman met each day with a smile that will be missed by his family, friends, his brothers and sisters in the Kansas City Fire Department, and by the City of Kansas City; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby honor Firefighter Graham Hoffman and express our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fellow members of the Kansas City Fire Department and Station 42; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Firefighter Hoffman’s family to commemorate his remarkable life, spirit, and service to the City of Kansas City.
