RESOLUTION - Honoring the 2025 LaunchKC cohort and these startups along with over 120 LaunchKC alumni companies are helping build the next generation of great businesses, brands, and technologies in Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City along with the Economic Development Corporation and the Downtown Council want to create a world class environment for entrepreneurs; and
WHEREAS, Launch is an initiative of both the Economic Development Corporation and the Downtown Council that is designed to propel entrepreneurship in Kansas City while retaining and attracting innovative startups and technologies; and
WHEREAS, to date, LaunchKC companies have created over 1,600 jobs and attracted over $450 million of follow-on investment. Over two-thirds of LaunchKC companies are led by women and/or minorities; and
WHEREAS, in November 2024, StoryTailor, SourceEazy, Roz, Cybership Technologies, Sisu, Scout, and Hilltop Technologies were the seven (7) winners of the LaunchKC grants competition where several hundred startups applied. Each of these seven companies were identified as having the potential to be future job creators and economic engines for Kansas City; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby extend their thanks and appreciation to StoryTailor, SourceEazy, Roz, Cybership Technologies, Sisu, Scout, and Hilltop Technologies for completing the LaunchKC program and continuing to build their businesses in Kansas City, Missouri; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to LaunchKC and the seven (7) companies in token of the Mayor and Council’s thanks for their perseverance as entrepreneurs and also their commitment to Kansas City, Missouri.
