Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute a $7,798,887.50 construction contract with J.M. Fahey Construction Company for Street Resurfacing from the Missouri River to 63rd Street; authorizing the Director of Public Works to increase this contract by up to thirty percent (30%) without further Council approval; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a contract with J.M. Fahey Construction Company in the amount of $7,798,887.50 for Project No. 26-2 - 89008991 for Street Resurfacing from the Missouri River to 63rd Street from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 27-2080-897701-B-89008533, Street Resurfacing. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works.

Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to amend this contract and to increase the amount of the contract by up to thirty percent (30%) without further Council approval.

Section 3. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.
