RESOLUTION - Honoring Daryl A. Love on the occasion of his retirement for his 27 years of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City.

WHEREAS, Daryl A. Love began his career with the City of Kansas City on Monday, June 30, 1997, as a Maintenance Mechanic with the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department; and

WHEREAS, Daryl A. Love is retiring as a Maintenance Mechanic in the Facility Maintenance Division of the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department at the City if Kansas City, after serving with dignity as Local No. 500 of The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), AFL-CIO, Departmental Union Steward, where he represented bargaining unit employees throughout his years of service; and

WHEREAS, Daryl A. Love as a Maintenance Mechanic, has amassed a wealth of institutional knowledge and experience while maintaining eight-square blocks of convention space and over 1,150,450 square feet of internal mechanical infrastructure systems in the Convention Facilities and the American Royal Complex. Daryl is an invaluable asset who is deeply dedicated to the mission and objectives of the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department; and

WHEREAS, Daryl A. Love expressed his desires to impart his extensive institutional knowledge by wanting to have trained more maintenance mechanics on the operations of the various internal mechanical systems prior to his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Daryl is excitingly anticipating the opportunity to spend quality time with his grandchildren, explore new destinations through travel, and passionately cultivate his father's land in a different state; and

WHEREAS, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, will mark the last day of Daryl A. Love's career with the City of Kansas City; NOW, THEREFORE;
