RESOLUTION - Honoring Michael Gray on his retirement after 26 years and 10 months of dedicated service serving the residents of the City of Kansas City, Missouri as a Water Services Department and Public Works Department employee.

WHEREAS, in 1997, Mr. Gray started his City of Kansas City career as a meter reader in the Water Services Department. In 2013, Mr. Gray became a Public Work Right-of-Way permit inspector and eventually, he finished his career as a Senior Street Preservation field inspector; and

WHEREAS, since the inception of the residential snow program, Mr. Gray also annually operated snow plows on residential routes keeping the City streets safe for all City residents; and

WHEREAS, in all of Mr. Gray's City of Kansas City positions, he played a vital role of ensuring the citizens of Kansas City are being provided the best customer service as well as ensuring all projects met City standards and specifications as a representative of the City; and

WHEREAS, let it also be recognized while working for the City of Kansas City, Mr. Gray had the honor of being a part of back to back record-breaking street resurfacing programs the last two fiscal years; and

WHEREAS, July 31, 2024, marks the last day of Mr. Gray's career with the Kansas City, Missouri Public Works Department and the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Michael Gray, on the occasion of his retirement from the Kansas City, Missouri Public Works Department, the heartiest best wishes for his future, together with appreciation for his nearly 27 years of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City Missouri and the same years of service to the residents of Kansas City; and
