Honoring Roxanne Coates on her retirement after 39 years and 4 months of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Roxanne started work at the City on March 10, 1982, as a Clerk Typist 1 with the Water Services Department's Pipeline Division; and
WHEREAS, Roxanne was promoted to a Clerk Typist II for the Water Services Department Reading and Services and Water Permit Divisions in September 1984; and
WHEREAS, Roxanne promoted to a Clerical Specialist II position in the Codes Administration Department in August 1990 and held that then reclassified as a Customer Service Specialist position until 2000, and was promoted to an Administrative Assistant II; and
WHEREAS, Roxanne promoted to an Administrative Assistant III/Senior Administrative Assistant position in 2003 as a supervisor/manager of the Water Services Department's Stormwater Billing section in the Consumer Services Division; and
WHEREAS, Roxanne received her Bachelor of Science degree in Management/Finance from Park University in 2010/2011, graduating cum laude; and
WHEREAS, Roxanne gained a wealth of knowledge and experience working in both Water Services and Codes Administration Departments over the past 39 years 4 months; and
WHEREAS, Roxanne looks forward to retirement so that she can relax, travel, spend more time with her children and grandchildren, work on projects, and increase her work in the ministry; and
WHEREAS, July 31, 2021 marked the last day of Roxanne's career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Ms. Roxanne Coates, on the occasion of her retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for her future, together with appreciation for her 39 years and 4 months of dedicated service to the citizens of Kansas City; and
