RESOLUTION - Recognizing SFS Architecture for 50 years of service to Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Shaughnessy Fickel and Scott Architects was formed in 1973 by Mike Shaughnessy, Mike Fickel and Bill Scott in downtown Kansas City, Missouri dedicated to the principles of timeless design and exceptional client service; and
WHEREAS, the firm was rebranded to SFS Architecture, Inc., under new ownership in 2007 with the mission to enrich people, organizations and communities through meaningful collaborations and purposeful design; and
WHEREAS, SFS delivers projects in both public and private sectors that stimulate community growth through new construction and renovation; and
WHEREAS, SFS has served over 200 communities on academic, civic, state, federal, justice, public safety, recreation, workplace, worship and not-for-profit building projects; and
WHEREAS, SFS has received more than 170 design awards from industry organizations such as the American Institute of Architects, International Interior Design Association and Historic Foundation of Kansas City for excellence in design, craftsmanship and artistry; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize SFS Architecture for 50 years of service; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to SFS Architecture with the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for their dedication and service to the City.
