Authorizing the Director of Public Works to enter into a construction contract with Superior Bowen Asphalt, Co. in the amount of $9,094,780.00 for Project No. 21-2 - Resurface Designated Streets Missouri River to 63rd Street; authorizing contract changes up to and including thirty percent (30%) of the original contract price.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Superior Bowen Asphalt, Co. in the amount of $9,094,780.00 for Project Number 21-2 - 89008874 - Contract Number CS210062 street resurfacing from the Missouri River to 63rd Street from funds previously appropriated to the following accounts:
AL-3521-897701-B-89008533 Street Resurfacing $6,666,666.00
22-3090-897701-B-89008533 Street Resurfacing 2,428,114.00
TOTAL: $9,094,780.00
Section 2. That the Fairness in Construction Board, to assure fair representation by socially and economically disadvantaged groups, approved for this project, a ten (10) percent representation by Minority Owned Businesses and a six (6) percent representation by Women Owned Businesses.
Section 3. That the Director of Public Works is authorized to enter into contract changes up to and including thirty percent (30%) of the original contract price for related work. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works.
Section 4. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with that section.
