Increasing the compensation of the City Clerk by 14% to $101,574.00; and reappointing Marilyn Sanders as the City Clerk for an additional one-year.

WHEREAS, on October 8, 2020, the City Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to reappoint Marilyn Sanders as City Clerk in Ordinance 200876; and
WHEREAS, the MOU is for a term of three years ending October 5, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the approved MOU includes provisions allowing for increases to the City Clerk’s compensation after an annual performance review; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted the 2023 annual review of the City Clerk’s performance and has determined an increase in their annual compensation is warranted; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the monthly base salary of the City Clerk, Marilyn Sanders, is hereby increased by 14% to $101,574.00, retroactive to June 28, 2023.
Section 2. That Marilyn Sanders is reappointed as City Clerk for an additional one-year effective October 5, 2023.
Section 3. That the Mayor is authorized to execute in the name of the City a one-year extension of the term of the MOU.
