RESOLUTION - Recognizing the City of Kansas City's Procurement Services Division Leadership.

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City's Procurement Services Division participated in the 2023 Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative; and

WHEREAS, the Procurement Services Division is a part of the City's General Services Department, under the leadership of Director Yolanda McKinzy; and

WHEREAS, the Procurement Services Division leadership team who participated in this initiative consist of Darrell Everette, Chief Procurement Officer, who has been with the City for nine years, Keely Golden, Procurement Manager-Services and Commodities, who has been with the City for twenty-four years, and Cory Burress, Procurement Manager-Construction and Design Professional, who has been with the City for four years; and

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri was invited to apply for a limited spot in the 2023 Leadership Initiative, the City applied and was awarded a coveted spot along with nineteen other cities across the United States and Canada; and
WHEREAS, the initiative's goal was to share information and learn ways to deal with common procurement issues and find ways to build synergy in public procurement, with the City of Kansas City, Missouri focusing on the Procurement Centralization effort currently underway; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend their thanks and appreciation to the City of Kansas City's Procurement Division Leadership team for their outstanding performance for the Procurement Services Division in Kansas City; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to the City of Kansas City's Procurement Division Leadership team in token of the Mayor and Council's thanks for ...
