Honoring Swope Health Services for over 52 years of exemplar service to the Greater Kansas City Community and its Citizens.

WHEREAS, Swope Health Services was founded in 1969 as Model Cities Health to provide care for the underserved in Kansas City Missouri, now Swope Health; and
WHEREAS, Swope Health provides services to over 43,000 individuals in the bistate area; and
WHEREAS, Swope Health provides primary care, dental and behavioral health services to thousands of underserved families; and
WHEREAS, Swope Health’s dedicated compassionate workers provide essential direct, hands-on care and strive to Make Care Visible and ensure community members get the best care possible; and
WHEREAS, Swope Health staff has worked to provide community wide assistance during this COVID 19 pandemic by providing testing and vaccinations to over 40,000 Kansas Citians; and
WHEREAS, Swope Heath believes that everyone, no matter who they are or where they come from, should have access to high-quality care; and
WHEREAS, Heath Center Week, August 8th through August 14th, will include outreach events throughout the community to increase the community’s knowledge and understanding of Community Health Centers; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and City Council hereby express their gratitude and deep appreciation to Swope Health Service for their past, present and future service and support to the Greater Kansas City area and its Citizens; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Swope Health Services with the thanks of the Mayor and Council for their service.
