Approving an amendment to the KCI Area Plan on about 7.6 acres generally located at 12220 N.W. Skyview Avenue by changing the recommended land use from Neighborhood 1 to Business Center for The Hub. (CD-CPC-2026-00029)

WHEREAS, on July 23, 2026, the City Council by Resolution No. 260559 adopted the KCI Area Plan; and
WHEREAS, after further review it has been deemed appropriate to amend the KCI Area Plan as it affects the area of approximately 7.6 acres generally located at 12220 N.W. Skyview Avenue by changing the recommended land use from Neighborhood 1 to Business Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered this amendment to the KCI Area Plan on July 15, 2026, and recommended approval of an amendment from residential low density, corresponding to the new Neighborhood 1 land use, to commercial, corresponding to the new Business Center land use; and
WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did, on July 15, 2026, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the KCI Area Plan to the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That the KCI Area Plan is hereby amended for that area described above by changing the recommended land use from Neighborhood 1 to Business Center.
Section B. That the amendment to the KCI Area Plan is consistent and complies with the KC Spirit Playbook, adopted on April 20, 2023, by Resolution No. 230257, and is adopted as a supplement to the KC Spirit Playbook.
Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
