RESOLUTION - Honoring Lupe Salazar for 54 years of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and her lifelong commitment to community upliftment and neighborhood preservation.

WHEREAS, Lupe spent the majority of her career working with residents and communities across Kansas City's East Side, where she served as a Community Engagement Officer committed to helping individuals and families access the resources necessary to maintain and improve their homes; and

WHEREAS, Lupe was especially proud of her time with the Palestine Neighborhood Community Action Network (CAN) Center, where she played a vital role in neighborhood preservation efforts, organizing clean-up projects, hosting community dinners, and fostering a spirit of unity and pride; and

WHEREAS, Lupe was known not only for her tireless service, but for her deep love for the City of Kansas City, often volunteering her time for citywide initiatives such as Dumpster Days and other beautification efforts; and

WHEREAS, Lupe exemplified the values of leadership, compassion, and public service, always striving to help every person she encountered-both in the East Side community where she worked and the West Side community where she lived; and

WHEREAS, Lupe was a lifetime resident of the Westside neighborhood and, like many before her, played a major role in helping bring resources to the neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, Lupe's civic duty extended beyond her workplace, having been a Brown Beret and marching alongside civil rights leaders such as Cesar Chavez and Reverend Jesse Jackson; and

WHEREAS, Lupe was a natural leader who generously shared information and resources with coworkers and neighbors, always striving to uplift those around her; NOW, THEREFORE
