RESOLUTION - Recognizing National Intern Day and celebrating the contributions of interns across Kansas City.

WHEREAS, National Intern Day is recognized annually on the last Thursday in July as an opportunity to celebrate and appreciate the dedication, talent, and energy that interns bring to the workplace; and
WHEREAS, internships play a critical role in shaping the future workforce by providing hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to professional environments for students and emerging professionals; and
WHEREAS, Kansas City is home to a broad network of businesses, nonprofit organizations, government offices, and educational institutions that offer meaningful internship opportunities across a wide range of fields; and
WHEREAS, interns contribute to the vitality and innovation of Kansas City's economy by bringing fresh ideas, diverse perspectives, and a strong commitment to learning and service; and
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri values the investment made by employers, mentors, and supervisors in guiding the next generation of leaders and professionals; and
WHEREAS, National Intern Day provides an opportunity to highlight the importance of expanding access to high-quality internships that reflect the diversity of our city and open doors to long-term success; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize National Intern Day and express their appreciation to all interns currently serving in roles across the Kansas City region; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to 2025 Municipal Interns with the Mayor and Council commending the efforts of Kansas City employers and institutions that invest in the professional growth and futur...
