Directing the City Manager to evaluate Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) public health data and guidelines and develop and implement a process within 45 days to publish data and guidelines the Director of Public Health deems beneficial to the public health of Kansas City residents, on the Health Department’s webpage.

WHEREAS, data and guidelines from the CDC helps save lives and protect people’s health; and

 

                     WHEREAS, CDC data and research conveys guidance for healthcare providers and critical information to combat infectious diseases;

 

                     WHEREAS, families, parents, and caretakers rely on CDC guidelines and information to make informed health decisions; 

 

                     WHEREAS, City Council believes providing accessible information from reputable sources is in the best public health interest of Kansas Citians; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

                     BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the City Manager is hereby directed to evaluate recently removed public health data, guidelines, and information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website and develop and implement a process within 45 days to publish any aforementioned data the Director of Public Health deems beneficial to the public health of Kansas City residents on the Health Department’s webpage.
