RESOLUTION - Celebrating and posthumously honoring Nollie Knighten for his dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Nollie began working at the Water Services Department on March 9, 1989, and spent his entire career with the Wastewater Preventative Maintenance Division; and

 

            WHEREAS, Nollie held positions such as Equipment Operator I (1989), Labor Leader (1992), Equipment Operator II (1996), Equipment Operator III (2002), General Supervisor (2003), and Utility Supervisor (2015-2024); and

 

            WHEREAS, Nollie was known for his work ethic, attention to detail, tenacity, teamwork, and dedication in ensuring repairs to the City’s wastewater collection system were made efficiently and effectively; and

 

WHEREAS, Nollie passed away on April 10, 2024, leaving behind his loving wife Betty, whom he was married to for 20 years, and a long career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

                     BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby celebrate and honor the life and service of Mr. Nollie Knighten in his 35 years of working for the Water Services Department; and

 

                     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to the family of Nollie Knighten in token of the deep and sincere sympathy hereby extended to his friends and family on behalf of the City of Kansas City.
