WHEREAS, on August 11, 2022, Resolution 220660 passed expressing City Council's intent to provide a 20% match if the City receives the USDOT Safe Roads and Streets for All Grant;

WHEREAS, on May 26, 2023, the Director of Public Works entered into a Safe Roads and Streets for All, with the Federal Highway Association (FHWA), wherein FHWA will contribute $880,000.00 in grant funds to assist in the project; NOW THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That revenue in the following account of the Capital Improvements Grant Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

24-3091-890001-474630-89008958 Citywide SS4A Planning Study $880,000.00

Section 2: That the sum of $880,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Capital Improvements Grant Fund to the following account:

24-3091-895117-B-89008958 Citywide SS4A Planning Study $880,000.00

Section 3: That the Director of Public works is authorized to expend $220,000.00 already appropriated in Account No. 24-3090-897086-B-89008958 to satisfy the City's match requirement.

Section 4: That the Director of Public Works is hereby designated as requisitioning authority from funds hereby appropriated to Account No. 24-3091-895117-B-89008958.

Section 5: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of the ordinance, together with the Program Agreement attached hereto, with the office of the Recorder of Deeds for Jackson County, Missouri.
