Accepting and approving a $30,000.00 grant amendment from AIDS United to collaborate on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Capacity Building Assistance program for non-clinical HIV testing and prevention in the metropolitan Kansas City area.

WHEREAS; AIDS United supports community-driven responses to the HIV epidemic focused on reaching disproportionately affected populations; and
WHEREAS; This award will compensate the HIV services program for activities provided to AIDS United that include consultation and technical assistance related to the CDC Ending the HIV Epidemic grant, development of materials and HIV prevention tool-kits, development and co-facilitation of webinar(s) and promotion of CBA Provider Network services in the Midwest; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That a sub-grant award agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health (the "Director"), and AIDS United to collaborate on the Centers for Disease Control Capacity Building Assistance program to implement and provide technical assistance on a statewide and regional level with non-clinical sites in developing testing, community events, awareness sessions, and linkage to care for high-risk individuals in the Kansas City, Missouri area for the period beginning August 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024, for an amount not to exceed $30,000.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the grant award agreement, in substantial form, is on file with the Director.
Section 2. That the Director is designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 24-2480-505060-G50506024 and is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $30,000.00 from funds heretofore appropriated to the account.
