RESOLUTION - Honoring Jessie Jefferson in Recognition of 50 Years of Community Service.

Whereas, Jessie Jefferson has dedicated 50 years to serving the Kansas City community with purpose, perseverance, and pride; and
Whereas, over the past five decades, Ms. Jefferson has been a trusted leader and advocate for neighborhood progress, consistently working to uplift residents and strengthen the civic life of our city; and
Whereas, her leadership in the Ivanhoe Neighborhood Association has had a lasting impact, including the creation of the Block Captain Program, which encouraged neighbors to take an active role in building stronger, safer communities; and
Whereas, Ms. Jefferson played an important role in helping Kansas City launch its first residential trash cart program, which improved neighborhood cleanliness and enhanced public services across the city; and
Whereas, her vision, commitment, and example have inspired generations of Kansas Citians to get involved, stay connected, and invest in their neighborhoods;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby declares Jessie Jefferson in Recognition of 50 Years of Community Service, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to the Jessie Jefferson Recognition of 50 Years of Community Service with the gratitude of the Mayor and Council.
