RESOLUTION - Honoring SevenDays(r) Make a Ripple and designating April 20-28, 2026, as SevenDays(r) of Kindness in Kansas City

WHEREAS, SevenDays(r) Make a Ripple, Change the World works to overcome hate by promoting kindness and understanding, offering opportunities for everyone to engage in acts of kindness; and
WHEREAS, SevenDays(r) 2026 will commemorate its second decade focused on teaching kindness and making a ripple to change the world; and
WHEREAS, SevenDays(r) 2026 begins on Monday, April 20, and will feature the Ripples of Kindness Breakfast on Thursday, April 23-a celebration of area youth and the announcement of the 6th Annual Ripple of Kindness honorees and will continue through Tuesday, April 28; and
WHEREAS, SevenDays(r) continues its daily themes of Love, Discover, Others, Connect, You, Go, and Onward, bringing people from all walks of life together to overcome hate through acts of kindness; and
WHEREAS, the memories of three wonderful and unique people-Reat Underwood, Dr. William Corporon, and Terri LaManno-will be honored through kindness and understanding; and
WHEREAS, we fully support and encourage all in Kansas City, including residents, businesses, organizations, and visitors, to come together during SevenDays(r) to act more kindly and to be more understanding of differences, thereby making the world a better place, one ripple at a time; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby declare April 20 through April 28, 2026, as SevenDays(r) of Kindness in Kansas City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to SevenDays(r) Make a Ripple with the Mayor and Council urging all citizens to engage in acts of ...
