Authorizing Amendment No. 3 in the amount of $652,228.00 to a design professional services agreement with Taliaferro & Browne, Inc. to provide construction phase services for the 18th Street Pedestrian Mall Project for a total contract amount not to exceed $2,415,350.00; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works on May 4, 2022, authorized an agreement with Taliaferro & Browne, Inc. for initial design professional services for the 18th Street Pedestrian Mall project in the amount of $287,377.00; and
WHEREAS, after review of the project's January 2023 final study, Council directed staff to complete the design of the 18th Street Pedestrian Mall Project, and Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $1,183,976.00 was authorized by Ordinance 230312 to further the project; and
WHEREAS, additional design services were required for the Paseo Improvements from E 17th Ter to Overpass for KCT Railway project, leading to Amendment No. 2 in the amount of $291,769.00, authorized by Ordinance 241067; NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the design professional services Amendment No. 3 with Taliaferro & Browne, Inc. in the amount of $652,228.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 26-3090-898301-B-89060886 for Project No. 89060886, 18th Street Pedestrian Mall from Paseo to Woodland Ave, for a total contract amount of $2,415,350.00 to provide construction phase services, including a Resident Project Representative and holding coordination meetings with contractors constructing other Jazz District projects, throughout the construction of the 18th Street Pedestrian Mall project.
