RESOLUTION - Honoring JustUs System Inc. for their commitment to build a new pipeline to law school for underserved youth.

WHEREAS, JustUs System Inc. has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of Kansas City students and families through the Future Black Lawyers Institute, the Teen Sports Law Pipeline, and the JustUs Career Club; and
WHEREAS, the organization has provided invaluable support and resources to students of color, ensuring equitable access to paid internships in high school, a streamlined pipeline to law school, and opportunities at high earning careers; and
WHEREAS, JustUs System Inc. has successfully collaborated with local sports businesses, government agencies, and other nonprofits to address pressing social issues such as teen violence, the school-to-prison pipeline, and new age barriers to education; and
WHEREAS, the organization's efforts have led to measurable improvements in the rate of students who have access to attorney mentors, the number of students who worked with sports teams, and the number of students who are on the pipeline to law school, positively impacting the overall well-being of the community; and
WHEREAS, JustUs System Inc. has been recognized for its innovative approaches and dedication to fostering a more inclusive and just society; and
WHEREAS, the tireless work of JustUs System Inc. has inspired countless volunteers and donors to join the cause, amplifying its impact and reach; and
WHEREAS, on June 1, 2025, Kansas City will celebrate JustUs Day, honoring the organization and 10 years of remarkable contributions and ongoing efforts to create a better future for all students and families; NOW, THEREFORE,
