Authorizing the Manager of Procurement Services to exercise and execute a contract renewal that will exceed the Section 3-41(a)(1) threshold of $1,000,000.00 with Mississippi Lime Company for the supply of crushed quicklime for water treatment; and authorizing the Manager of Procurement Services to amend and extend the contract.

WHEREAS the City Council previously authorized Contract No. EV4271 with Mississippi Lime Company; and
WHEREAS the contract includes one or more renewal options that, under the authorizing Ordinance and Section 3-41(a)(1) of the Code of Ordinances, would otherwise require additional City Council authorization because the contract amount will exceed the $1,000,000.00 threshold; and
WHEREAS the City Council desires by this Ordinance to authorize the Manager of Procurement Services to amend and exercise the City's renewal options for the following Ordinance, and to amend and execute five (5) additional one (1) year renewals identified below, without additional Council authorization; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1: That the Manager of Procurement Services is authorized to execute a one (1) year contract renewal for Contract No. EV4271 in the amount that will exceed the Section 3-41(a)(1) threshold of $1,000,000.00 with Mississippi Lime Company, for the supply of crushed quicklime for water treatment, which was authorized by Ordinance No. 251034, with such funds that are appropriated in the annual budget.
Section 2. That the Manager of Procurement Services is authorized to amend and renew the contract for up to four (4) additional one-year renewals without additional City Council authorization contingent upon the annual appropriation of funds for that purpose.
