RESOLUTION - Honoring Dimitri Milligan, husband, father, brother, spiritual guidance counselor and life coach.

WHEREAS, Dimitri Milligan was born and raised on the east side of Kansas City, Missouri in Midtown. Dimitri is married to Dana Milligan and is the proud father of three grown daughters, though he lost his only son in a fatal car accident on July 18, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Dimitri Milligan has devoted his life to helping others to advance in their life. Dimitri Milligan is a small-business owner. He founded HELPS Ministry which helps Brothers and Sisters experiencing hard times due to unemployment, incarceration, and lack of job skills and more; and
WHEREAS, Dimitri Milligan also created a recent community event that has brought thousands of folks of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicity in attendance every Tuesday evening called “Put Down the Guns and Put On The Skates”. The purpose of this event is to bring community awareness and give hope to residents that have been overlooked, neglected, all while helping to demarginalize, decrease violence, murders and conflict; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby honor Dimitri Milligan for his commitment to bring the community together in Kansas City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Dimitri Milligan with the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for his outstanding commitment to Kansas City.
