RESOLUTION - Recognizing Michael Grimaldi for his fifty-plus years of service and dedication to Kansas City, Missouri and the surrounding areas.

WHEREAS, Michael Grimaldi served as Strategic Initiatives Coordinator for Kansas City Water from 2016 to 2024, leading a team of communication professionals to highlight the services of the Kansas City Water Services Department and reinforce their mission through specialized communications and public engagement; and
WHEREAS, Michael Grimaldi has served as the Press Secretary for Mayor Sly James from 2015 to 2016, supporting Mayor James in preparing public initiatives and contributing to the City's outreach and public engagement; and
WHEREAS, Michael Grimaldi as a Senior Communions Consultant at Trozzolo Communications Group from 2008 to 2015, developed and implemented strategic communication plans, specializing in litigation and crisis communication; and
WHEREAS, Michael Grimaldi during his tenure as Director of Issues Management at Corporate Communications Group excelled in issues of management, communication, and public relations; and
WHEREAS, Michael Grimaldi had significant involvement in the journalistic community of Kansas City, writing for The Kansas City Star from 1979-1989 and contributing to award-winning coverage; and
WHEREAS, Michael Grimaldi served as a Military Courier Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1971-1974, including active duty at Polaris Missile Facility Atlantic and numerous transatlantic crossings, exemplifying dedication and service; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby congratulate Michael Grimaldi; and
