Authorizing a $6,980,000.00 construction contract with Kissick Construction Company, Inc., for the Relief Sewer: Dykes Branch Interceptor project; authorizing a maximum expenditure of $7,680,000.00; authorizing a $753,500.00 design professional services Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 1659 with Lamp Rynearson, Inc., for the Relief Sewer: Dykes Branch Interceptor project for a total contract amount of $1,983,500.00; authorizing a cost-sharing Memorandum of Understanding with Johnson County Wastewater; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, City Council passed Ordinance No. 230369 on May 11, 2023, authorizing a $1,230,000.00 design professional services Contract No. 1659 with Lamp Rynearson, Inc., for conceptual, preliminary, and final design of the Relief Sewer: Dykes Branch Interceptor project; and
WHEREAS, this proposed ordinance is for authorization of a $6,980,000.00 construction project, a $753,500.00 design professional construction phase services Amendment No. 1 for the Relief Sewer: Dykes Branch Interceptor project, and a no-cost cost-sharing Memorandum of Understanding with Johnson County Wastewater; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of the Water Services Department is authorized to execute Contract No. 1660 in the amount of $6,980,000.00 with Kissick Construction Company, Inc. for the Relief Sewer: Dykes Branch Interceptor project, Project No. 81000990. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of Water Services.
Section 2. That the Director of Water Services Department is authorized to expend up to maximum of $7,680,000.00 from Account No. AL-8194-807769-611060-81000990, Overflow Control Program, to satisfy the cost of this contract.
