Adopting and authorizing the execution of the Collective Bargaining Agreement with Local 42, I.A.F.F.

WHEREAS, Local 42, of the International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO-CLC, is recognized by the City as the exclusive bargaining unit representing all Fire Fighters, Fire Apparatus Operators, Captains, Communication Specialists, Communication Supervisors, Fire Prevention Inspectors, Investigators, Education Specialists, Emergency Medical Technicians, Emergency Response Vehicle Technicians, Emergency Supply Technicians, Paramedics, Fire Fighter/Paramedics, Fire Fighter/EMT’s and all uniformed employees in the Fire Department in all divisions in all ranks equal to or below the rank of Captain; and,
WHEREAS, the designated representatives of the City and Local 42 have met, conferred and discussed certain issues involving salaries and other conditions of employment and have reached tentative agreement on those issues; and,
WHEREAS, the designated representatives of the City and Local 42 have tentatively agreed upon all of the provisions as set forth in a Collective Bargaining Agreement to be in force for the period beginning May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2029; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and Local 42, I.A.F.F., for the period beginning May 1, 2024, through April 30, 2029, is hereby adopted. A copy of the Collective Bargaining Agreement is on file in the office of the Fire Chief.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the above Collective Bargaining Agreement on behalf of the City.
