Authorizing the City Manager to act as the City's representative to apply for, accept, and execute grant agreements with the United States of America, acting through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), including grants through the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and any other federally-funded grant programs administered by the FAA.

WHEREAS, the United States of America, acting through the FAA, finances airport improvements and planning projects across the United States pursuant to and for the purpose of carrying out Title 49, United States Code (USC), Chapters 471 and 475; 49 USC §§ 40101 et seq. and 48103; and the Airport Sponsor Assurances (FAA Order 5190.6C, Airport Compliance Manual), as may be amended from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the FAA requires an official designation by the City of the person to be responsible for the acceptance, application for, and execution of grant agreements; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for, accept, and execute grant agreements on behalf of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, with United States of America, acting through the Federal Aviation Administration, including the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and any other federally-funded grant programs administered by the FAA. A copy of the applications and grant agreements shall be maintained in the offices of the Aviation Department.
