Authorizing the Director of Public Works to amend the contract with Bike Share KC, Project No. 89008979, for a total contract amount of $569,000.00 for the purpose of maintaining existing service levels; reducing $74,000.00 in appropriations from the General Fund (1000) Contingent Appropriation; appropriating $74,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund (1000) as a transfer to the Public Mass Transportation Fund (2080); estimating revenue in the amount of $74,000.00 in the Public Mass Transportation Fund (2080) related to the transfer from the General Fund (1000); appropriating $74,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Public Mass Transportation Fund (2080); and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

WHEREAS, Bike Share KC operates 347 bikes at 39 stocked bike hubs in Kansas City; and
WHEREAS, the FY 2026-27 Adopted Budget included an appropriation of $495,000.00 for the Bike Share KC contract in the Public Mass Transportation Fund; and
WHERAS, the Public Works Department requires an additional amount of $74,000.00 for the Bike Share KC contract to maintain existing service levels for a total contract of $569,000.00 in FY 2026-27; and
WHEREAS, the FY 2026-27 first quarter budget analysis projects the Public Mass Transportation ending fund balance to be $0; and
WHEREAS, as of the FY 2026-27 first quarter budget analysis, Contingent Appropriation is $7,631,545; and
WHEREAS, the FY 2026-27 first quarter budget analysis has determined an appropriation to support this directive will require a transfer from the General Fund supported by Contingent Appropriation to the Public Mass Transportation Fund; NOW, THEREFORE,
