RESOLUTION - Congratulating Delois Culclager-Brown on her 75th birthday.

WHEREAS, Delois Culclager-Brown graduated from high school in her hometown of Wabbaseka, Arkansas in 1966, before moving to Kansas City, Missouri as part of the second wave of the Great Migration; and
WHEREAS, Delois set out at 16 years old in search of a career opportunity, new experiences, and a different way of life where she became a mother/stepmother and would go on to raise her family in the greater Kansas City area; and
WHEREAS, Delois worked 38 years with the IRS, starting at the facility on Bannister Road in Kansas City, Missouri, and later relocating to 119th and Metcalf in Overland Park, Kansas, where she retired in 2006 with the Albert Gallatin Award in second-line management; and
WHEREAS, Delois' first church home after coming to Kansas City in 1966 was Church of the Most High God under the leadership of Bishop & Mother Fowler, serving as Sunday School teacher, later joining the Faith Mission Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Kansas City, Missouri, for approximately 20 years under the leadership of Pastor Hurbert Lambert; served on the Junior Usher Board and Outreach Ministry; and is currently a member of Christian Tabernacle COGIC in Kansas City, Missouri, for 35+ years starting under the leadership of Bishop Emmanuel Newton, now Pastor Keith Newton. Served on such auxiliaries as Usher Board, COGIC Home & Foreign Missions, Pastor's Aide Committee, Church Mothers Board, and Outreach Ministry; and
WHEREAS, Delois has done fundraising for both the Christian Tabernacle COGIC in Kansas City, Missouri and the local YMCA in Kansas City, Kansas; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby congratulate Delois Culclager-Brown on her 75th birthday; and
