RESOLUTION - Recognizing the Pembroke Hill girls soccer team and Head Coach Matthew T. Pritchett for their first-place victory at the MSHSAA Missouri State Class 1 Soccer Championship on June 6, 2026.

WHEREAS, this event marks the Pembroke Hill girls soccer team’s first Class 1 State Championship victory in history; and

 

WHEREAS, the team secured their lead in the first half, scoring two goals and further solidifying their position with a third goal in the second half, winning the game with a score of 3-1; and

 

WHEREAS, the Raiders finished their season with a 11-8-1 record and outscored their opponents 35-1 in their five postseason matches; and

 

WHEREAS, Tyler Pritchett, the team’s senior goalie, was named the MSHSAA Class 1 Goalkeeper of the year and All-Region Goalkeeper; and

 

WHEREAS, Colbie Hyde, the team’s senior center back, was named the MSHSAA Class 1 Player of the Year and All-Region Defender; and

 

WHEREAS, Head Coach Matthew T. Pritchett was named Private School Coach of the Year; and

 

WHEREAS, Maddie Novak, Glory Toney, and Phoebe Toney received All-Region Honors; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize the Pembroke Hill girls soccer team and Head Coach Matthew T. Pritchett for the perseverance and hard work that has allowed them to bring home the first-ever State Championship victory in the team’s history; and 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to the Pembroke Hill girls soccer team and Coach Pritchett with the commendation of the Mayor and Council for their unwavering determination and athletic commitment.
