RESOLUTION - Honoring the Lincoln College Preparatory Academy Men's Volleyball Team for their historic 2025 season, during which they captured the school's first-ever district championship in men's volleyball, representing Kansas City Public Schools with excellence on and off the court.

WHEREAS, men's volleyball is a rapidly growing sport in Missouri, officially sanctioned by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) in 2022; and
WHEREAS, the young men of Lincoln College Preparatory Academy have embraced this opportunity with dedication, discipline, and teamwork, serving as outstanding ambassadors for their school and city; and
WHEREAS, on May 16, the Tigers made history by securing the District Championship with a decisive 3-0 victory over Northeast High School; and
WHEREAS, the team earned national recognition by achieving the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Academic Team Honor for the third consecutive year, awarded to programs maintaining a year-long GPA of 3.3 or higher; and
WHEREAS, All-State Academic Team honors went to Jared Suriano, Benjamin Golec, Kadem Schieber, and Elijah Smith-athletes who participated in at least 75% of varsity sets and maintained a cumulative 3.6 GPA or higher; and
WHEREAS, athletic achievements include All-District First Team honors for Samari Taylor, Jared Suriano, and Benjamin Golec, and Second Team honors for Alex Dinh; and
WHEREAS, in their fifth season, the program has been guided by Coach Blake Mathews, whose leadership has established a competitive and respected program within Kansas City Public Schools; and
